Suresa Dundes
Suresa Dundes holds a B.A. in International Relations from UC Davis, an M.A. in Education from USC, and an M.F.A
in Theatre (Directing) from UC San Diego. She has been active professionally in the performing arts since 1972
as a director, art director, literary manager and designer of sets, props, costumes and make-up. She worked in
theatre from 1972 to 1983 in London, San Francisco and San Diego and in film and video all over the Bay Area as
a free lance artist since 1983.
In addition to teaching “Acting For The Camera” at the College of Marin, she has taught at UC San Diego, Cal State
Hayward, UC Santa Cruz Extension and elementary and middle schools as part of the National Teacher Corps in the
San Joaquin Valley.
Suresa’s great passion is writing. She has written two screenplays and most of a novel in the past year and a half,
but is still waiting for an opus to come out of her fingers and her computer that is worthy enough to share with
other people and elevate her writing from hobby status to real work.
Suresa lives with her husband, Michael Faw, who works full time for the Discovery Museum as Director of Operations,
and her two daughters, Leah and Miriam. As a family they share their love for movies, reading, traveling and good
food. Suresa’s other interests include working in the Exhibit Department of the Bay Area Discovery Museum, volunteering
in the public schools and two years as a Girl Scout Leader.
