Open College

Touchtone Registration

begins at 9 a.m. January 2, 2007

If you have taken a noncredit class within the past year, you may register for classes by Touch Tone phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Fees are payable by MasterCard or Visa. Touch Tone registration continues through Feb. 9. Touch Tone registration ends for any class at 3 p.m. the day prior to the first class meeting. Be sure to stay on the line until you hear, "You will receive a confirmation postcard within 10 working days."

Register In Person

You may register in person for Community Education classes at the Admissions Counter at either campus.

Register In Class

If there is space available, you may register in class. Have the instructor sign your registration form or wait list postcard and then submit it with payment to the Admissions Office. Keep in mind that your class may fill or be cancelled due to low enrollment if you do not register early.

Register by U.S. Mail

Please mail your registration at least five working days prior to the first class meeting to ensure that your name appears on the instructor's roster the first day of class. You may use the registration form at the center of the printed booklet, or download the form to print. Additional forms may be obtained from the Office of Admissions and Records at either campus. Xeroxed duplicates will be accepted. You will find the mailing address at the top of the registration form.

Register by Fax

To Register for Online Classes

(classes taught online) please follow

steps below:

You will need Internet access, email, Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape web browser and application software. For example, if you are doing a class in Word, you would need to have that software on your computer. For complete course descriptions and requirements, click here.
To register:
1. Register with the college by any method listed above.

2. Email your email address to:
michael.lewis@marin.edu

and include your name and course name(s) and number(s).

Payment of Fees

Please send a separate check or money order made payable to College of Marin for each class requested. You may also pay by MasterCard or Visa. (The college charges $15 for all returned checks and declined credit cards.)

For All Methods of Registration

Please answer all questions on the registration form to be sure that your registration can be processed. Registrations are processed in the order received.

Use of Social Security Numbers

If you choose not to use your Social Security Number, the college will assign and mail you a Student Identification Number. Please keep a record of this number for all future transactions.

Open College

Come College of Marin credit courses are open to Commuinity Education students. Open College classes available for advance registration are listed here: Open College. You may also request to register in other credit classes as a Commuinity Euducation student by attending the class and requesting the instructor to obtain a Community Education section number. Not all classes will be available to Community Education students and first priority goes to credt students. After receiving a Community Education section number, you must register and pay fees withthe Office of Admissions andf Records by the next class meeting. Students who register in credit classes as Community Ecucation students do not receive units or grades and are not eligible for a refund after the class has begun.

A confirmation post card will be sent via U.S. mail for all methods of registration.
