Enter at Parking Lot 6/7 (Pool Parking); buy a parking permit ($3), park and walk across the bridge in between parking lot 6 and 7. Take an upper left onto the cement path toward the Ohlone Cluster. The Ohlone Cluster will be on your left hand side. Turn left between the first two buildings, 20 and then 18. The Macintosh classes are in Ohlone 103 on the left, in building 20; the PC classes are down the cement walkway and up the wood ramp toward the right in Ohlone 216, building 19.
Are the classes taught on a Mac or PC?
The PC lab is in OL 216
The Mac lab is in OL 103

If I have a Mac, can I take a class that is taught on a PC? or If I have a PC, can I take a class that is taught on the MAC?

I have a little bit of knowlege about an application (Word, Excel, QuickBooks, etc.), should I sign up for the Intro. or Interm. class?
The best thing for you to do is to click here to check the course description and see if you know all of the things that are coveres in the Intro. class. If you feel that you fully understand everything that we cover in the Intro. class, then most likely you can go ahead and take the Interm. class.
If you are not sure that you fully understand all of the things that we cover in the Intro. class, then you might want to sign up for it. All of our Interm. classes build off of what is covered in the Intro. class.
We believe in building a good foundation and getting a good grip on the basics before you learn the more advanced concepts. You have to walk before you can run.
If you have any questions on what class to sign up for, please feel free to contact Mike Lewis at 415-485-9305.

Return to Top How do the Online classes work?
Duration:
All courses last for a period of six weeks and are design to take 24 hours to complete, 4 hours per week.
Lessons:
There will be two lessons taught each week and they will be available to you on Wednesdays and Fridays at noon. You will not be able to access a lesson until it has been released, however, you will be able to access all previously released lessons.
Discussion Area:
If you need assistance with the course material, there is a discussion area, where you can ask questions and receive answers. The discussion area in each lesson only remains open ten days after the lesson is released.
Assignments:
Some lessons will also be accompanied by an assignment that has been designed to give you a hands-on application of the skills taught in that lesson and some will have supplemental information to help you with the class.
Quizzes:
Most lessons will be accompanied by a short, multiple-choice quiz. Quizzes can be retaken until you are satisfied with your score.
Finals:
The final exam is available after your last lesson. You might want to print it out first to go over it. Unlike the quizzes, you can only take the final once. You have two weeks to complete it and turn it in. To successfully complete the course, and download a letter of completion, you must take the final. The quizzes are there for you to go over the material covered in the chapter, but it is the final that must be submitted to receive your letter of completion. Since this is a non-credit class, no letter grades are given.
